Programs

Learn to Swim

If you don’t know the difference between backstroke and breaststroke, this program might be for you.  We take swimmers as young as 5 years old and as old as 18 years old.  We focus on technique, which enables you to get comfortable in the water, as a starting point.  We will develop your freestyle and backstroke first.  We work on increasing your number of laps from 0 laps, to 1/2 a lap and eventually to 1 full lap.  Once you feel comfortable swimming freestyle and backstroke, we add another stroke called the breaststroke.  We increase your laps as you develop your technique and conditioning.

Swim Team

If you wish to competitively swim or train like a competitive swimmer, you can try out for the AAC Alligator Swim Team.  The Swim Team is usually for swimmers younger than high school age.  We continue to fine tune your strokes and build conditioning.  We focus on reducing your times through refinement of your strokes and, of course, conditioning.  We do about 4 meets between September and March.  We are a USA Swimming team and enter in USA Swimming sanctioned meets.

Senior Swim

If you are in high school and swim competitively for your high school, we have a program that will prep you for the up-coming high school swim season.  It start in September and ends mid November.  The Senior Team program leans more toward conditioning.  Practices are 1 1/2 hours 4 days a week.  Some swimmers in Grade 7 and Grade 8 do Senior Swim from September to March as part of their training regimen.

Stroke Clinic

Stroke Clinic focuses on breaking down each stroke into their sub components.  We coach on developing the sub components.  It allows a swimmer to focus on ‘one thing at a time’, develop the muscle memory, and integrate the sub components into one fluid stroke.
